August 20 weekend report
I had the pleasure of taking preda and his wife fishing this past weekend.
He had been looking for someone to fish on milacs with his boat and since he had know taker I invited him up for a free guiding trip. We had a great time and managed to find some darn good action with 2 over 18 1/2 3 fat over 17 and plus a nice batch of fish between between 12 and 17 inches. All in all it was a great weekend and I’ve made another good friend
fishing report
we had a nice string of nice weather with litttle wind and the fishing turned on. Ryan and I got five keepers sunday morning. It sounds like they did real well down south . The guys that wre here for the weekend had plenty of action and had a big fish fry sunday night. They caught 2 pike around 37 inches with one real skinny and one real fat. Male and female? I was hoping to get out tuesday morning but the wind kept me on shore doing chores. I hope to wet a line before the weekend if all goes as planned
Oops for
Forgot to write how Kellie and I did. I have had blueberrys on the mind. We ended up catching 14 fish .8 walleyes 2 small pike and 2 sheephead.
I now have 5 pints and 1 quart of berrys jarred and have another batch to prep today. me and the dag Bella are going to go check another spot to see if there starting to dry up. We will also be going on the lake later today and may even wet a line
that time of year
Spent the morning picking blueberrys after the weekend events of the big bog. The mud run was a huge success with Scottt Waldo winning with a time of just over 7 seconds. The chachter drawer was also a huge hit. It was fun watching him draw and basicly make the people look like cartoons.
We now have a new dog her name is Bella she will be going for a ride on the boat shortly Then kellie and I will be fishing this afternoon and having a picnicon our boat “Imagine That” Should be a good time and I will have a fishing report tomorrow
July 4th weekend
I had hoped to get out fishing quite a bit more but Phil could not get out of bed in the morning. Its been a while since I have reported. the summer fishing seems to be a bit better then last summer. The old tried and true spinner has again been my go to set up. I have done some experiamenting with salmo cranks and have also had some success. It seems if you put your time in you can catch some fish. Some of the kids were up for the 4th and we got out a couple of times. the rain chased us off the lake the first day after less then a hour and we had two keepers in the live well. the next trip was the whole family and we had to jig and bobber fish. Again we kept two and caught a couple that were on the small side. The sheephead have not changed and still love white.
a good day
Steve and Bob and there wifes Kathy and Cheryl pulled in yesterday for a 1/2 day of fishing. Do to the wind we headed to the north shore to troll spinners. we did really well with Kathy having the hot lure. I was surprisedf how quick we caught 15 fish. The smallest was a 8 incher and the largest was close to 18 inches.
We then came to the east side but battling the wind was to much so we called it a day. Every one wewnt home happy including me.
A short fishing report
Our computer crashed this spring,Were up and running again so I will try and give a recap.
This years opener had the most boats since walleye reopened I thought. The ealrly spring effected the fishing and the numbers were down. The tamarac river was much slower. Most of our guest this year have had a fish fry and some have t taken home there limits.
Last weekend Ryan and I did real well with ryan catching the biggest walleye of his life a 27 1/2 incher. Wow what a nice fish.
I had the pleasure of taking James and his son Brian fishing again this year. last year we battled the wind so it was a treat to have such nice weather and we did real well fishing with Brian landing a pike over 40 inches on his walleye set up.
Kellie and I went atfter crappie early inthe season and caught a couple but nothing like past years. Keith found a honey hole and land 9 with his buddy and said they saw atleast 100 caught out of the same area that day. It was a small spot along the shoreline in 3.8 feet of water. I fished there for a few minutes and landed a pike over 40 on my crappie gear. There was a window of a week where the pike were all on fire. A guy should of targeted them but I was busy catching walleyes. Our son Joe will be visiting this summmer so I will have him add some pics from the past year while he is here. I will be doing some prefishing this week for a guide job so stay tuned for further reports. cookie on upper red lake
cabins this summer
The days are dwindling away before the 2010 season oppener. The tamarac river opened up yesterday. This year we still have cabins open on the 21rst and 22 of may and also the last weekend of may. June is wide open also so give us a call to see if we can accomedate you
the walleye season is coming to a end
yep this coming weekend is the last weekend we will be able to keep walleye. Florida caught 3 crappies but lost one at the hole so that was encourging. All the houses caught some fish this weekend which is always a plus. Andy and his buddies kept me hopping as I had the house on a fresh spot for them friday and we moved the house again saturday. The stupid fish sure have been biting lite all year and if a guy could figure out how to make them bite who could of put the hurt on them. Oh well more walleyes for this summer is not a bad thing. I will be adding more pics from the season so make sure you check them out in the future.
