Dec. 1rst

Mother nature has not delt us a good hand at this time. With the lake snow covered the ice willl be a slower process. A few have ventured out on to the lake but I have never been one to push the envolope on early ice. When I say venture its on a sled and close to shore. I beleave all the resorts busted up the stacked ice on there shorelines to help freeze them down better. It will be somtime before any vechicle even think about heading out in my opinion. We have dodged some snow the past weeks since the lake glazed over. I ttok the dog for a walk in the woods sunday and I was surprised how much snow was out there. Thats all for now but antone venturing out on any lakes please be carefull

Here we go again

Tis the season. The time has come agaian as we prepare for the up and coming ice season. Mother nature has already sent a message that she is the boss. With the lake snow covered protecting the ice we willl be in a wait and see as what type of ice conditions we have this season. Everyone with a road has some extra work as some ice piled up along shore before she glazed over.
Pulling my houses off of our shoreline will also be a extra chore.
We will be running 5 sleepers and one day house this year. As in years past i will do my best to keep the houses in fishy areas and try and have the house on fresh ice every weekend. After 10 years I still have not figured out how to leave a house in the same spot for over a few days. Oh well thats not a big deal as I enjoy working on the lake and moving the houses is part of my job. I also enjoy when the customers help move a house.
Thats all for now to all my previous customers and new ones to come have a fantastic thanksgiving and hope to see you this winter.

outstanding fishing

The greek, bob and luke were up this weekend. It sure was nice seing the greek as He has been in alaska all summer running his new businee Naturesventure. They had a good summer with many many halibut ,rockfish and salmon caugt. He has lodging 10 miles out of homer and does some river guiding plus has all the connections for halibut and any other adventures a guy would like to take.
Anyway with the killer fall weather the fishing turned on big time and on friday we did really well with the biggest walleye just over 21 inches. We kept 12 fish with alll over 17 and just under 20 inches it was outsatnding fishing. saturday are goal was to get them each 4 to take home and again the fishing was above average. I took the grandkids and daughter out yesterday and some smaller fish moved in.We kept six nice keepers. What a string of nice weather we have had. How long can it last is up to mother nature.

Sept 19th fishing report

What a beautiful fall day here on upper red lake. After a big brunch it wa time to do a little fall fishing. the weather man totally missed as they said winds 5 to 15 and the lake was like glass. It sure is a treat to fish when the lake is like that. After picking up bait and gas I headed out to deeper water figuring the water would be a little clearer. After never getting a bite I headed to the north shore again looking for a little clearer water. I found my first keeper in 4 feet of water next to a dying weed patch a nice 19 incher. i worke dthe area for a bit but with no other bite I headed east and picked up a 17 again in less then 5 feet of water 2 bites and two fish. Not the best for the time I spent fishing but still a beautifull afteernoon on the lake

sept 8th

Got off work a little early today so toook adantage and spent a hour on the lake. Started out shallow with no luck so headed out deeper and picked up one fat 18 walleye I will be eating for lunch today

August 20 weekend report

I had the pleasure of taking preda and his wife fishing this past weekend.
He had been looking for someone to fish on milacs with his boat and since he had know taker I invited him up for a free guiding trip. We had a great time and managed to find some darn good action with 2 over 18 1/2 3 fat over 17 and plus a nice batch of fish between between 12 and 17 inches. All in all it was a great weekend and I’ve made another good friend

fishing report

we had a nice string of nice weather with litttle wind and the fishing turned on. Ryan and I got five keepers sunday morning. It sounds like they did real well down south . The guys that wre here for the weekend had plenty of action and had a big fish fry sunday night. They caught 2 pike around 37 inches with one real skinny and one real fat. Male and female? I was hoping to get out tuesday morning but the wind kept me on shore doing chores. I hope to wet a line before the weekend if all goes as planned

Oops for

Forgot to write how Kellie and I did. I have had blueberrys on the mind. We ended up catching 14 fish .8 walleyes 2 small pike and 2 sheephead.
I now have 5 pints and 1 quart of berrys jarred and have another batch to prep today. me and the dag Bella are going to go check another spot to see if there starting to dry up. We will also be going on the lake later today and may even wet a line

that time of year

Spent the morning picking blueberrys after the weekend events of the big bog. The mud run was a huge success with Scottt Waldo winning with a time of just over 7 seconds. The chachter drawer was also a huge hit. It was fun watching him draw and basicly make the people look like cartoons.
We now have a new dog her name is Bella she will be going for a ride on the boat shortly Then kellie and I will be fishing this afternoon and having a picnicon our boat “Imagine That” Should be a good time and I will have a fishing report tomorrow

July 4th weekend

I had hoped to get out fishing quite a bit more but Phil could not get out of bed in the morning. Its been a while since I have reported. the summer fishing seems to be a bit better then last summer. The old tried and true spinner has again been my go to set up. I have done some experiamenting with salmo cranks and have also had some success. It seems if you put your time in you can catch some fish. Some of the kids were up for the 4th and we got out a couple of times. the rain chased us off the lake the first day after less then a hour and we had two keepers in the live well. the next trip was the whole family and we had to jig and bobber fish. Again we kept two and caught a couple that were on the small side. The sheephead have not changed and still love white.
