2 night stay in the cabin with 2 free rounds of gofl at oak harbor for 200 hundre bucks (0 dollar value plue tax. What a great way to spend the weekend golf and fish all in the same day.

Jake Jenny and gabrial were up wednesday thursdayy I took them out both days.The first day was rather slow but thurday we got 8 keepers in deeper water by the rock. I took Rodger and Rick out yesterday and we lost 2 keepers by the boat. It was very slow in the morning.

Yesterday we were able to get on the lake with Mike his dad Tom and Adam the camra man. Lets just say it was a adventure for sure. The wind was coming out of the west around 12 mph. With the waves breaking over the last two sand bars I came to a stop in between the last two and took a 5 foot wave over the bow. Once we got out of that bad situation . Things were much better. That will be the last time I go out from the river with 4 foot rollers as I sure do not want to damage my boat for a fish.. With the stirred up from the high winds on monday we headed out to deeper water. It started off with a bang as the first drift Tom had one on and lost it. the second drift I landed a plump keeper. After many more misses and some lost tackle from snags we managed to land a total of 3 keepers in the two hours we fished.All in all it was agood time considering we were driftinf in 4 foot waves

With the wind howling out of the southwest we decided to give it a shot, The first thing I did not like how the boat was hitting the lake floor inbetween the waves as we went out the mouth of the river. Once we were on the lake there were some pretty goood waves. We started trolling spinners right away and darn if we did not catch a fish within minutes. It surprised me as we kept getting one here and there as we traveled along.After about 2 hours jenny was not feeling so well so we came in.
We are still seeing quite a few smaller fish in that 13 inch range.

Memorial weekend my brother was up from chicago with a couple of buddies. A cold front had blown in and the winds were stong out of the northeast. We stuggled to catch fish . We did manage to catch a few bigger walleyes but it was slow. Yesterday with no wind and 80 degrees trollong a spinner was the ticket as I caught 4 walleyes with in 25 minutes. I also spent a little time looking for the elusive upper red lake crappie with no luck Red lake is so different then the traditional walleye lake where you want a walleye chop. You do not get many but some of the best days I have had on red lake it was dead calm.

Its that time a year to give a valent attemp to land a few of the elusive upper red lake crappies. Last night was the first night I targetted them. Working the north shore in 3 feet of water with a whitle flu-flu was the ticket as I landed 4, Jen landed two and Jake landed four. We kept 7 for dinner tonight and released three that we figured were females. All in all a good start as we only fished a little over 2 hours.

The wind was a factor this year and made the fishing a little tougher.The guys I took out Dustin ,Jim and Sten battled the wave with me and we managed to catch a few fish. Saturday evening was much better as we caught a fish every drift drifting from 8 feet to 4 feet. They headed home sunday morning. The guys camping on the river lot got the 12 but fished all day. All the guys down at the lake managed to catch fish but it was along day with the wind. Sunday the wind kept everyone off the lake.We have a full house next weekend lets hope the winf cooperates

Well it seems like it has been forever but we can start keeping fish starting today. I only have two guys staying down on the lake and no one in the cabins as they bailed out on me last minute. I will be taking Sten,Lim and Dustin out a little bit later and the fishing repoerts will follow/ Were dealing with shallow water this year and going out onn the lake from the river is tough. Trim all the way up and slow.
Tell your friens I have limited camping and two cabin we rent here, have a good season and be carfull

Welll its been a interesting week. Looking at the weather I had nothing to worry about. Well good ol mother nature had second thoughts.Thursday with a bit of snow and then winds at 45 miles per hour made quite the mess of my set up. Jakes crew of 5 turned into 2 . What a bust.
Oh well Kellie and i and the grand kids had a grand time out there last night and she Kellie got a elusive yet catchable upper red lake crappie. Way to go hun tonights my turn.

I’m the only one left. Other then Buddy having a house out there my houses are the only ones out there at this time. It has always been hard to throw in the towel as the season comes to a end so abrupley.
I now have the house set of for a chance at a crappie or two. So far so good as Steave and Kurt were up monday night and caught two out of florida. Kellie and I fished old minnesota and did not catch one darn the luck.
Jake will be up again this weekend and has 4 or 5 other guys coming as they search for the elusive yet still catchable upper red lake crappie.That leaves arizona and california open for the weekend. After this weekend it will be time to cut a trail and get the houses close to shore.If the conditions are good and i have a fishermen or two I will pull a house back to the crappie area if need be.
